EFI TO BRING LATEST MIS TO INDIA

EFI, world leader in digital imaging and print management solutions for commercial and enterprise printing, which has entered the emerging Indian digital market space, plans
to focus on helping customers to get the ‘right information at the right time’ with its next generation of management information services products.
It has also unveiled a raft of new versions of its products that integrate production from the design to the final fulfilment of the job, with web submission and personalisation.
Recently, Mr Guy Gecht, company’s Chief Executive, gave a sneak preview of the firm’s plans for a product to deliver the right information at the right time at its annual users’ conference, recently held at Miami, Florida. The company plans to launch the new product in September at Print 05. Mr Gecht highlighted the need to sift out relevant information from the increasing amounts of data bombarding people to help them make the right decisions about their businesses. He said that the challenge of software now is not about delivering information, but to deliver the right info to the right people at the right time.

‘In print you’re not going to kill anyone, but it might kill your business,’ he said.
Recently, the company launched new versions of its web submission tools PrintSmith Site, Printersite Exchange, Printersite Fulfilment and Printersite Internal. The products
boast of features like desktop PDF creation utility, PrintMessenger and support for personalisation. Functions for variable data printing include the ability to upload images and databases within the web browser.
The company also entered into a deal with USADATA which will help it a printer’s customer to buy lists of prospective clients to use in direct mail campaigns while ordering the print.
Headquartered at Bangalore, EFI India has an offshore product development and research centre which is the largest EFI engineering development centre outside of US.
It is also responsible for sales & marketing of EFI products through multiple OEM and direct channel partners to design houses and designers, pre-press and press houses,
quick printers and digital printing houses.
