The show has been born out of the desire of digital manufacturers, who are
members of ESMA, to have a truly major international exhibition once a year to
market their latest product offerings. There are currently a plethora of national
shows which exhibitors attend but do not necessarily represent an efficient
use of their marketing budget. Therefore, this show is designed in such a way
that it is the only one digital event which exhibitors will need to attend in
Europe.
ESMA intends the annual
show to be the main venue
at which its members will
showcase new products to
customers from all over the
world. The exhibition will be
tailored to manufacturers’
needs and will reduce the
cost to ESMA members and
their customers of attending
multiple shows to see the
latest printing equipment.
Many well-known companies
from the industry have
already announced their
intention of taking part in the
event. According to the
organizers some of the
companies which are
supporting the show are: 3M,
Encres Dubuit, KIWO,
Marabu, Océ, Printcolor,
SaatiPrint, Scitex Vision,
Sefar, Sericol, Staedtler Mars,
Sun Chemical, Technigraf,
Thieme and Tiflex.
Owned by the exhibitors,
the event will be an
international show offering
manufacturers four days for build-up, allowing
enough time to set up their equipment prior to
the opening of the show.
For visitors, it also provides convenient
days including Saturday to help those
businessmen who find it so difficult to get time
away from the workplace during the week.
In all, the exhibition is created to fulfill the
need identified by digital manufacturers in
ESMA, for one annual international show place
for their products in Europe.
Representing most of the major screen and
digital manufacturers in Europe, it intends to
reduce the cost of exhibiting in Europe for its
members, and by ownership of this show
ensure that it has an exhibition which is both
exciting for customers and meets all the
requirements of manufacturers.
The profile of the expo is expected to be
10,000 sq. mtrs. stand space (15,000 is
available) with 200 to 300 exhibitors. It isanticipated that the show will attract 7,000 high
quality, targeted visitors drawn from
manufacturers’ customer databases and using
extensive marketing through trade magazines.
New Horizons Seminar, a series of seminars
are also planned to run concurrently along with
the expo. It will present latest technology in a
learning environment and will be supported by
manufacturers and independent specialists,
who will address a variety of issues of interest
to users of digital print.
The exhibition will be an exciting
opportunity for potential customers of digital
machine manufacturers, manufacturers of all
consumables, software suppliers, finishing -
cutters, folders and laminators to see the latest
products on offer.
The exhibition is targeted at the industry
segments like general graphics, signs, textile,
garment, glass, ceramics, automotive, CD,
electronics, roll label, art studio, packaging,
industrial markings.
“The DPE is by manufacturers, for
manufacturers and is ‘not for profit’, said Mr
Bob Watson, Chairman of the digital
technology committee of ESMA.
For those major European machine
manufactures, ink companies, substrate
companies who want to have special focus, the
show intends to deliver just that.
Spokesperson of Colorspan said, “Like
concept of focus on wide and large format.
Other shows are too general.”
FESPA, on their part, is also coming with
their version with FESPA Digital Printing
Europe. The show is scheduled at Amsterdam,
in May 16-18, 2006.
