| FESPA 2005 AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE IN SCREEN AND DIGITAL PRINTING |
| |
|
|
With Indian entries bagging a sizable number of awards
at the competition organised by FESPA, the event
highlighted the country’s dominating presence in screen
and digital printing.
The awards function at FESPA 2005 was one of the
most memorable events, especially for delegates from
India. It was for the first time that India participated at
the competition after it became an associate member of
FESPA. In total 92 entries from 15 different companies
entered the competion. It is worth noting that more than
half of the companies walked away with a total of 11
awards. Indian victory at this global event recognising
industry excellence speaks high of the quality standards
the country has achieved.
According to the event organisers, over 400 entries
were received from 20 different countries. The 20
Awards categories covered many diverse aspects of
screen and digital printing.
FESPA General Secretary, Mr Nigel Steffens was thrilled
in light of the contributions received for the awards. “Some
of the contributions are just outstanding,” he said.
He further added, “We have been hugely impressed by
the stunning work submitted, and were also delighted by
the broad range of nationalities that entered the
competition. It was particularly gratifying to see such a
large number of entries from India, with some of them
winning Gold, Silver and Bronze.”
“One of the most encouraging signs made evident through the competition is that the screen printing process
is continuing to develop,” he said, adding, “We have seen
some truly excellent, technically superb entries, ranging
from the printing of electronic circuits to religious icons,
demonstrating the process at its very best. Similarly, entries
in the four digital categories showed that digital output is
producing stunning, high-quality results, which can
compete on a par with our industry’s traditional processes.”
